Amy Alice Riches

Amy is originally from the UK but now lives in Iceland. She completed a BA degree in fine art and art history and a Masters degree in Art History at the university of Plymouth. She went on to pursue creative work within the commercial industry which she had been working in for over 15 years. She has worked with a number of companies in the UK and Iceland and has created everything from brochures, logos and newsletters to illustrations, video game art and UI icons.

As a fine artist she works with charcoal, gouache and oils primarily painting landscapes.  Landscape has always been a subject Amy has strongly been drawn to. She's fascinated by their power to transport you to a different place entirely, and endeavours to capture the essence of the places she explores. Painting en plein air has become an important part of her process making numerous studies on location.
